PROGRAMMING CONSIDERATIONS

There are several things to consider when programming for athletes, with the most important being: how do we prescribe intensity and volume? There are several methodologies that can be use to program for these variables, as are discussed below. Additionally, the below video also discusses some of the challenges associated with quantifying the success of our interventions. It's important obviously for us to use reliable and accurate methods for measuring an athlete's strength, but it is also important for us to consider whether the extra strength that we've developed in our athletes is actually meaningful to their sporting performance.
