CONTRACTION SPECIFIC TRAINING

Given the challenges of "simple strength training", and the fact that only a small part of the concentric-isometric-eccentric range is stimulated, by isolating certain phases of the contraction (i.e. concentric vs isometric vs eccentric) it is possible to overload the force output of the muscle/muscle group during this phase of the contraction. The video below is on the longer side, however it goes through some of the contraction-specific exercises and adaptations that can be used to improve force output in our athletes.
