MODULE 3: Summary
Hopefully this module has given you a starting point in regards to training some of the sport specific movement patterns. Often these movement patterns are not taught to the same detail at university as what the standard gym patterns are. Additionally most placement students generally have some personal experience in the gym previously, whereas most have never been taught how to run and jump. Hence don't feel overwhelmed if this has been a lot of information on topics you're not hugely familiar with.
If these topics have been unfamiliar to you, the best thing you can do prior to starting your placement is get out and practice some of these patterns! Even better, get out with a family member or friend and observe how they execute these movement patterns, and if you're feeling confident try having a go at coaching them! The only way to get better at observing and coaching athletes is to observe and coach athletes!
